La Posta Fazzio Malbec 2015
Alcohol: 13.5% by volume
Composition: 100% Malbec
About La Posta Fazzio : Argentina’s best small-family growers express their individual passions with single-grower, single-vineyard wines. Each wine named after a grower family demonstrates the wide range of Malbec aroma and flavor profiles generated by distinct Mendoza appellations. La Posta translates to “the tavern,” where the farmers meet to discuss their soils, their vines, their quest for superior flavors, and their passions for life. In
collaboration with wine pioneer Laura Catena and esteemed winemaker Estela Perinetti, the hard work and skill of the people behind the wines are expressed in La Posta. The 2015 Fazzio is a single vineyard Malbec from the region of Tupungato in the Uco Valley. The wine is aged 12 months in 10% new French oak, 70% 2nd use French oak, and 20% stainless steel. The soil consists of sandy loam, sand, silt, and clay with some surface stones.
Description: The vibrant nose of red and black cherries and ripe plums combines with floral touches of violets and rose petals. It holds a nice tannic structure that is full on the palate. Vanilla, chocolate, and some spice appears to make it more complex.
This is a fruit-driven, fresh and well-structured wine that pairs great with barbecue or meats like prosciutto or hard cheeses. Unique recipe ideas include Smoked Chicken and Blueberry Salad or Roast Pork Tenderloin with Medjool Date, Olive and Walnut Relish.

About Telmo Rodriquez Vineyard: Telmo Rodriguez is one of Spain’s pioneer winemakers, advocating native grape varietals tied to the climates and conditions of their sites, and making world-class wines from undiscovered as well as known regions. Perhaps most impressive, while Telmo Rodriguez makes rare and limited wines of astonishing character and quality, his everyday wines have been equally praised, and widely recognized for the tremendous value they offer.
Description: Grapes are hand-picked from eight of their own vineyards within the Wairau Valley. Cropped at an average of 7.5 tonnes/hectare (50hl/ha). The fruit is whole bunch pressed, cold settled before fermentation and 2-3 months aging in stainless steel tanks. A portion of this wine is fermented using indigenous yeast. Bottled without fining. This wine has classic strong citrus characters with lemon and grapefruit prominent, complimented by elderflowers, with smoky and flinty undertones. It holds a juicy and vibrant palate of pure citrus flavours leaving a lengthy finish with refreshing, balanced acidity.
Pairs well with rich fish such as salmon or tuna, shellfish and goat cheese
